Steam Sterilization
8Working Principle
A Vertical Autoclave sterilizes compatible materials using saturated steam under controlled temperature and pressure. Water is heated to generate steam, air is removed from the chamber, and the controller raises the chamber to the programmed temperature and pressure. The holding period begins only after the required sterilization condition is reached. Steam is then exhausted in a controlled manner, followed by cooling and optional drying. Liquid loads require slower exhaust and cooling to reduce boiling, bottle breakage and loss of contents.
Gravity Displacement
Steam enters the chamber and displaces cooler air downward and outward. Suitable for many liquids, glassware and simple solid loads when properly validated.
Vacuum-Assisted Operation
Pre-vacuum removes air before steam admission and may improve penetration into porous, wrapped or complex loads. Availability is model-dependent.
